Spencer-Van Etten’s eighth grade Civics class recently took part in a river cleanup event along the Chemung River Watershed. This initiative gave students a hands-on opportunity to engage in community service while learning about the importance of environmental stewardship.
The students worked diligently to remove debris and litter from the river, gaining a greater understanding of the impact of pollution on local ecosystems. Through their efforts, the class not only helped preserve the natural beauty of the watershed but also contributed to keeping the water clean for future generations.
This river cleanup is a part of SVE’s ongoing commitment to civic responsibility and environmental awareness. We are proud of our eighth graders for taking an active role in protecting our environment and setting a positive example for the community!
