Flu Prevention

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we enter flu season, it’s important to work together to keep our children healthy both at home and at school. Here are some flu prevention tips to help reduce the spread of illness:

At Home:

  1. Encourage Handwashing: Remind your child to wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  2. Stay Hydrated and Eat Nutritiously: A well-balanced diet and plenty of water can help boost your child’s immune system.

  3. Get Vaccinated: The flu shot is one of the best ways to prevent illness. Consider scheduling an appointment with your healthcare provider.

  4. Disinfect Common Areas: Regularly clean surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, and electronics to reduce germs.

  5. Stay Home if Sick: If your child shows flu-like symptoms, keep them at home to recover and prevent spreading illness.

At School:

  1. Pack Hand Sanitizer: Encourage your child to use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.

  2. Practice Cough Etiquette: Teach children to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing.

  3. Limit Sharing of Personal Items: Remind your child not to share water bottles, food, or utensils.

  4. Communicate Symptoms Early: If your child is feeling unwell, notify the school nurse so they can monitor symptoms and take precautions.

Together, we can help keep our school community healthy. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the school nurse or administration. Thank you for your cooperation and support! Please check the images below for more information!
