Due to the dangerously hot and humid conditions predicted by the National Weather Service this week, especially Tuesday through Thursday, the Spencer-Van Etten Central School District will release all elementary students at 11:30 am and middle school students at 11:40 am on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, and Thursday, June 20, 2024. Breakfast and lunch will be served prior to the dismissal of students. The High School Regents Exam schedule will remain unchanged. High school students taking Regents Exams should report for their Regents Exams at the scheduled time and location. There will be no transportation to CTE classes at GST BOCES, but students scheduled to take Regents Exams at BOCES will be transported to their BOCES program to take their Regents Exams.
There is no school scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 2024, to observe Juneteenth.
We realize this change in our instructional programming for our youngest students will be an inconvenience for families, but we want to ensure we protect our students and employees from the dangerously warm conditions. We appreciate your understanding.
