Every 2 weeks the 8th Grade teachers nominate students to our Hall of Fame based on character, hard work and positive growth mindset. The 8th grade teachers would like to induct 2 new students into the Hall of Fame this week! You can learn more about this week’s current recipients by visiting the bulletin board in the 8th grade hallway by the windows. This week’s inductees are Bethany Lau and Jacobe Regis.
In her free time, Bethany enjoys playing guitar and sketching! She also enjoys watching her favorite sports team, Syracuse, play. Bethany says that her greatest achievement is being able to do 5 different type of braids. When she graduates from high school, Bethany plans to go to cosmetology school and to travel to many places. The person that Bethany admires the most is Katniss Everdeen. Bethany’s inspirational quote is: “May the odds be ever in your favor.” -Effie Trinket, The Hunger Games. She says, “I think this is my favorite quote since it brings the thought that your fate in life could be good or bad, complicated or easy…you’ll never truly know. You can only be ready for it and hope it turns out to be good.”
Jacobe’s greatest accomplishment is overcoming a bad leg injury. In his free time, Jacobe loves hanging out with his family and friends. His future goal is to graduate from high school. The person that Jacobe admires the most is his mom. Jacobe’s inspirational quote is: “You should never regret anything in life. If it is good, it’s wonderful. If it is bad, it’s experience.” Jacobe says, “I like it because everything you do you can learn from.”
